Our Karate Summer Fun Days program is educational and fun!

We will teach your children life skills like we do in our current Karate programs. All activities will be based on discipline, respect, and self-control, as well as how to deal with peer pressure. 1st Week: July 12 - July 16 2nd Week: August 2 - August 6 Mon. - Fri 8:30am – 3:00 pm Bring your own snacks and lunches. Price per week - Members $125.00 Non-Members $145.00 $15.00 Summer Registration Fee for new students only. 50% non-refundable deposit per week required at time of registration. Kick-A-Thon, Hopeful Tomorrow Scholarship Fundraiser, Spencer, MA

Fundraising efforts for the Hopeful Tomorrow scholarship fund will include a Kick-A-Thon to be held at MJA Martial Arts, Inc. to help celebrate World Martial Arts day on October 17, 2009. Schools from around the country will try to break a record for the most kicks thrown on one day. All funds raised from the kick-a-thon will help children in the community who would otherwise not be able to take martial arts lessons.

Hopeful Tomorrow is a 501C-3 non-profit organization to offer scholarships for low income and underprivileged children for martial arts lessons. Hopeful Tomorrow, based out of Seminole, Florida is nationally recognized as one of the leaders providing funds for children to participate in a whole range of activities from martial arts to creative arts.

Ten new class times have been added to the MJA Martial Arts schedule: 3-Ninja Tiger Cubs Karate, 3-Jr. Kenpo Karate, 2-Kenpo Karate and 2 Intermediate Karate.

The new schedule is available at the Dojo and is also on the website. I hope this will give you more flexibility for the months ahead.

Jr. Kenpo Karate Classes, Spencer, MA - Serving Worcester County Massachusetts

This program is designed specifically to get young children started. If your child is shy, too outgoing, or hyperactive (ADHD/ADD) this program will give them the life principles needed to overcome and succeed in their young lives. We implement character building in this program.


Lil’ Dragon program has three levels:

• 1st Level Blue Stripe
• 2nd Level Red Stripe
• 3rd Level Green Stripe
• Form A

At the 3rd level, your child will be taught Form A which is a footwork pattern to help him / her
coordinate all the basic moves learned to this point. Once this is achieved, the student will then be given a basics test. When he/she passes this test, the student will move up to the Kenpo Karate class.

The Ninja Tiger Cubs Program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving the pre-school age child's basic motor and listening skills. These skills will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students, better listeners at home, and more ambitious towards the future.

We believe the time between the ages of 3 and 5 are the most important years of a child's development. Our program will enhance positive developments in a fun and motivating way and introduce your child to basic Kenpo karate skills.

Each student is treated as an individual and advances at his/her own pace. They are not expected to "keep up" with anyone else. The Ninja Tiger Cubs Program is broken up into eight themes:

• Focus - This skill will help your child's aim, listening skills and reaction skills. They will excel faster in any physical activities. Your child will also become a better listener and more focused student in school.

• Teamwork - Teamwork is necessary for any young child to develop. The more your child is willing to work with others, the more he or she will accomplish. Your child will develop character which will help him or her make new friends and become a better leader in life.

• Control - Having control means making good decisions. Whether your child is handling a pet or handling a problem, he or she will learn to make the right decisions. Control builds confidence.

• Balance - This skill is crucial to develop at an early age. Your child is beginning to participate in many physical activities that are challenging, like riding a two-wheel bicycle. Your child will develop good balance and better posture.

• Memory - Developing a good memory is crucial for your child. Our drills are constantly helping your child think and make smart decisions.

• Discipline - Our instructors use the Little Ninja drills to help create the vision that discipline is fun and rewarding. Your child will take pride in doing the right thing. Your child will also follow directions better.

• Fitness - It is important for children to understand the importance of being healthy and physically fit. If your child does not burn off excess energy constructively how will he or she focus?

• Coordination - Your child will learn left from right. They will become better physical participants in sports and other activities. The better coordination your child has the fewer injuries he or she will sustain.
