MJA Martial Arts Tigers to Dragons Karate Tournament

I am pleased to announce the 1st annual MJA Martial Arts Tigers to Dragons Karate Tournament on Saturday March 26, 2011. It's open to all students and adults to participate.

Tickets are on sale - spectator fee is $3 for 6 and older, 5 and under are free.

Competition Events: Weapon Forms, Empty Hand Forms and Sparring. Self-Defense Division for 1st degree purple belts and up.

Self-Defense Division– For 1st Degree Purple Belts and up. This will include students in groups of three competing using a selective self-defense routine. No more than two minutes long.

Safety Equipment: Foam-dipped hands, feet, headgear and mouthpiece are mandatory in all fighting divisions. Protective cup is mandatory for all male competitors. All competitors must provide their own equipment. Ring-Star shoes are not allowed.

Weapons: Weapon Forms will be 1st Degree Orange Belts and up Only.

Grands: We will present Grand Championship Awards for each division. Students who win 1st place in all three of their divisions. The three levels are beginner, intermediate and advanced
